There are thousands of lifestyles and environments that are custom designed to their individual and community needs, desires, aesthetics and vision. However, you may have to get out of your “comfort zone and let go of believe systems” in order to get there.
What most ecovillages have in common as the main purpose, is to nurture human and ecological wellbeing in perfect harmony with all life. So, starting a new ecovillage from scratch – or – joining an existing one is very much needed in today’s degenerative world. Welcome to the regenerative movement!

Starting an ecovillage allows you to manifest your deepest vision for regenerative living. While challenging at first, the rewards are profound: you’ll shape everything from food systems and energy infrastructure – to – governance models and community culture. The canvas is yours.
The journey can seem overwhelming, but you don’t need to begin alone. We recommend first building a community that shares your vision, or start with key elements before expanding. Also, whether you already have land needing design expertise, or infrastructure needing community, you want to have (or re-evaluate) a solid action plan in order to move forward efficiently. Which includes, knowing how a person and community transitions from a degenerative lifestyle into a regenerative lifestyle.

RAIZ Ecovillage - Regenerative Sanctuary
10 Hectare Land in the Coastal Tropical Forest of Ecuador
RAIZ Ecovillage represents a culture that is based on the regeneration of all life —blending between ancient wisdom and modern innovation— currently transforming a 35-year pioneer permaculture farm, into Ecuador’s premier Regenerative Sanctuary. This is our newest and most ambitious project yet. And you can be part of the founding members.
We have 3 main options to participate:
FT EcoVillage Member (Full Time). Here you live with us at our ecovillage, own your home in our community land.
PT Ecovillage Member (Part Time). Here you can own your home in our community land, live at the ecovillage part time while you rent your home to travelers.
Prime Investor Membership. Here you can invest for part of – or – for the entire RAIZ Ecovillage project. You don’t have to own a home.
All options have a easy strategic EXIT Protocol after a minimum of 3 to 5 years of membership.
INITIAL STEPS TO APPLY
To become a RAIZ Ecovillage member, we have several important requirements. The whole process can take from 3 months to a year in order to fully become a member. For now, the following initial steps will help us determine if you and us, are the right fit for each other’s vision of a thriving community.
